Padre Week

Westview choir was lucky enough to be able to perform in the singing of the national anthem along with 400 other choir students around the San Diego county at Petco Park this past Tuesday.  A small group of Westview students took up the oprrotunity to not only take in the experience of singing for 40,000+ people, but to have a bonding experience as a choir family.

  In the next 2 weeks choir will be rehearing over all their music in preparation for our upcoming fall concert, "Life As a Cabaret".

Westview's Fall Rally

Westview Singers, Natalia Fimbres and Sarah Pence, sang the National Anthem at our Fall Pep Rally.  Their rendition brought tears to the eyes of both students and teachers.  Following that performance, was Altissimo Voce leading the school in singing our Alma Mater.  Here is a wonderful video of one of Westview's finest pep rallies!

National Anthem Day & Back To School Night

Altissimo Voce helped welcome parents to Westview's 10th Back-to-School-Night on September 13th by singing The Star Spangled Banner.  This performance was two-fold as September 14th happens to be National Anthem Day.  We wore red, white and blue ribbons to honor this event.

In response to  2004 Harris Interactive survey that showed two out of three Americans didn't know the words to our national anthem, MENC: The National Association for Music Education created the "National Anthem Project: Restoring America's Voice" campaign in March 2005 to re-teach the anthem while raising awareness of the importance of school music.  Westview Choir participated in this day by reviewing the origination of the anthem and learning to sing it correctly.

First Day of School

It is wonderful to be a Wolverine at Westview! The first day of school was celebrated with our 1st pep rally of the year. Selected choir members sang the National Anthem while the Navy Seals Leap Frogs parachuted from the sky into the Westview Stadium. It was a proud moment that I will never forget. Choir Retreat 2011

All 2011-12 choir singers were invited to a special pre-school retreat on August 19th and 20th at Westview.  We got to know each other, played team building games and started singing together.  Saturday night, we had fun showing off our bowling skills.  It was a great 2 days that got the year started off right.  This is going to be a fantastic year for the Westview Choir Department! 

San Diego Fair "Flash Mob"

On Saturday, June 18th about 25 Westview Choir singers entertained the crowds at the San Diego County Fair. The fair's theme is Race to the Fair so our choir sang and danced to Beep, Beep! (I love cars), Route 66 and Life is a Highway.  The 1st performance was at the opening ceremony and the last 2 performances were "flash mob" style.  We had a great time and got to spend the rest of the day at the fair - lots of fun, lots of food and lots of entertainment. Happy summer!
